Promoting women’s leadership G20 EMPOWER
One of the objectives set earlier this year by the Indonesian presidency of the Private Sector Alliance - G20 EMPOWER - was to update the ‘G20 EMPOWER Good Practice Handbook’ report, to continue the work done during the Italian presidency of the group in 2021.

This Handbook, which was developed in collaboration with the Boston Consulting Group, gathers more than 73 good practices from 15 countries to help to increase companies’ commitments and performance in the G20 EMPOWER’s three work stream: building a pipeline of female talent; measuring for improvement; and training women to lead the future.
The report benefited from input from its network of more than 300 advocates, executive directors, heads of foundations, associations and organisations in the G20 and invited countries.
Along with the good practices included in previous editions, this year features a total of 240 initiatives that contribute to promoting women’s leadership and knowledge exchange between the public and private sectors.
The aim of this report is to:
• Set out best practices/policies applied at a variety of companies and industries, to influence and inspire a wider audience.
• Offer G20 governments access to best practices from the business sector that will inspire and strengthen policies globally and nationally.
• To put companies and leaders in contact with each other, fostering networking.
The Spanish chapter includes the following initiatives: SIEMENS’ STEM Girls Power Programme; Study of the presence of women on the Boards of listed companies by ATREVIA COMUNICACIÓN; and the Code of Good Practices by EJE&CON. This edition also includes an interview with Marta Blanco, the President of CEOE International and the G20 EMPOWER representative for Spain, about CEOE’s Progresa and Promociona initiatives.
These Spanish good practices are on top of those already included in the 2021 edition of the report: Chicas imparables at 50&50; Agile Diversity Team at Toyota Spain; and Progresa y Promociona at the CEOE.
We invite you to consult both reports:
- G20 EMPOWER Best Practices Playbook 2021: Empowering women to lead the new normal world.
- G20 EMPOWER Best practices Playbook 2022: Advancing women towards leadership.
