The meeting, which was moderated by the President of CEOE INTERNATIONAL, Marta Blanco, offered an opportunity to assess the political, economic and security dimensions of the conflict, as well as to better understand the implications of the invasion of Ukraine for Europe and transatlantic relations, and the position that the P.R. China is taking on to this conflict.

In her speech, Marta Blanco highlighted the unity of the European business community throughout the European continent and across all sectors of the economy. She also underlined the intensive work being done by the International Relations Department (CEOE INTERNATIONAL) since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Thus, intensive work is being done to provide information, with 23 communiqués sent so far to the members of the International Relations Committee, which not only provide exhaustive information about each economic sanctions package approved by the European Union, but also about the sanctions being adopted by our main allies, with special mention of the United States and the United Kingdom. Information is also being provided about Russia’s response to the economic sanctions.

CEOE also constantly exchanges information with all of its European counterpart business organisations within BUSINESSEUROPE to assess the impact of economic sanctions, and it channels information about the impact of sanctions on sectors of the economy and requests clarification for queries regarding the legal texts of economic sanctions.
