CEOE International meets the Ambassador of the Republic of Madagascar in Spain

On 13 September, the President of CEOE International, Marta Blanco, met the ambassador of the Republic of Madagascar in Spain, Olivier Hugues Rija Rajohnson. Miguel Brunete, CEOE International’s Africa technician, also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, the key sectors the Malagasy government wishes to promote were assessed; they will be included in the Emergency Plan until 2030, which shall be presented soon. Sectors such as tourism, infrastructure, agri-food and fisheries and the energy sector were stressed especially. Possible avenues for further collaboration between the two institutions were also examined.

Madagascar has been among the region’s best-performing economies in terms GDP growth in recent years, with an average growth rate of almost 4% to 2019. After the pandemic, the country’s income again rose by 4.4% in 2021 to 14.637 billion dollars, according to the World Bank.
