It was opened by current President of Business at OECD, Rick Jonhston, the Secretary-General of the OECD, Mathias Cormann, and Business at OECD Executive Director Hanni Rosenbaum. The day was organised into various round table discussions, with special emphasis upon public-private collaboration, as exemplified by the joint work of the OECD and the business organisation (BIAC) since its inception.

Marta Blanco participated in the panel discussion “Diplomacy past and present” along with Seiji Inagaki, the CEO of Dai-ichi Life Holding; Peter Robinson, the President and CEO of the US Council for International Business (USCIB); and Manuel Tovar, the Minister of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica.

In her speech, Marta Blanco emphasised the short and medium-/long-term challenges facing economies around the world at the moment. In this context of great uncertainty, short-term measures combined with a set of long-term policies are required to address issues such as inflation, energy and food security, or the double transition. The resilience of supply chains is clearly a priority matter for all global economies, and multilateralism and open markets are particularly significant, since interdependence is inevitable in such a highly-integrated world.

The President of CEOE International expressed her support for the process of accession to the OCDE for new members, which makes it possible to accelerate reforms and who enrich perspectives within the organisation.

Finally, regarding the role of the OCDE and the special value added work in recent decades, Marta Blanco highlighted the efforts aimed at guaranteeing a level playing field and the significant progress made in digitalisation.

The event was followed by a gala dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel in Paris.
