ECONOMY TAX AFFAIRES ECONOMY TAX AFFAIRES

Globalization, Spain's membership to the Economic and Monetary Union, the efficiency of the legislative framework and distortions in our domestic market, as well as the country’s economic policy, they all condition the strategy and operation of Spanish enterprises.  Therefore, we need to be aware of the on-going changes taking place in these fields to manage businesses competitively.

The Research Department, through its reports, analyzes the economic and financial situation of the main world economies, by closely monitoring the Spanish economy and its activity sectors.  In addition, it assesses the Government’s main economic measures and, in particular, those that affect competitiveness and investment decisions.

Similarly, taxation is key for businesses and it should support growth and job creation and prevent market distortions caused by lack of coordination between regional and local taxes over the same activity.

From our fiscal department we make proposals in order for our tax system to meet these requirements, by making allegations, observations and amendments to legislative initiatives undertaken by the Government or Congress. We also participate in BUSINESSEUROPE and BIAC’s working groups, monitoring supranational tax initiatives.
