THE SIXTH EDITION OF THE PROMOCIONA PROJECT IS OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED FOR 2018/2019

It fosters the promotion of women to Senior Management

The Institute for Women and Equal Opportunities and CEOE have convened the sixth edition of the "Promociona Project - Executive Program for Women in Senior Management", which will be co-financed by the European Social Fund.

The initiative aims to increase the representation of women in senior management positions and consists on the identification and promotion of female talent through the development and strengthening of women's professional and leadership skills, as well as on raising awareness among the corporate world. To date, 437 female senior executives from more than 260 companies have participated and, of the first four editions completed, 45% have been promoted.

The initiative aims to increase the representation of women in senior management positions and is focused on the identification and promotion of female talent, through the development and strengthening of women’s professional and leadership skills, as well as raising awareness among companies. To date, 437 top executives from more than 260 companies have participated in this project, and of the first four editions, 45% of the participants have been promoted.

In fact, companies play a very active role in the Promociona Project. They have to choose and support their candidates, pledging to actively pursue their promotion and contribute to the project by making senior management staff available for cross-mentoring processes with the rest of the participants.

Likewise, each edition has mentors and sponsors from the business sector, such as Marcos de Quinto, marketing director and global vice-president of Coca-Cola (2013/2014); Ignacio Garralda, president of Mutua Madrileña and Patricia Abril, president and CEO of McDonald's Spain (2014/2015); Belén Frau, CEO of IKEA Italy, and José Crehueras, president of Grupo Planeta and Atresmedia (2015/2016); Maria Helena Antolín, vice- president of Grupo Antolín and Luis de Torres, President of Sodexo Iberia (until October 2016) and current CEO for LatAm & Brazil (2016/2017) or Helena Herrero, president of HP and Paulo Soares (CEO of Campofrío) ( 2017/2018).

How to participate in Promociona

The requirements that must be met by the candidates applying to the "Promotional Project - Executive Program for Women in Senior Management" are:

  • Currently hold a management position.
  • At least 15 years of work experience.
  • Hold a university degree.
  • Have an intermediate-high English level
  • For the company to support and be willing to get involved in the project, by signing and sending a "Letter of Support from the organization"

Once chosen, each one of the participants will access a platform where she will have to complete a series of tasks, questionnaires and a 360º-assessment exercise and she will go through a training period at ESADE Business School, where she will strengthen her management and leadership skills. The itinerary will be completed with professional networking activities and individual executive coaching sessions, as well as a cross-mentoring process.

The Institute for Women and Equal Opportunities, together with the ESF and CEOE, co-finance a total of 45 places. Priority for access to these places will be reserved for those candidates who, in addition to fulfilling the requirements for access to the program, are introduced by companies participating in the initiative promoted by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality "More Women, Better Companies”, whose goal is to move towards a balanced participation of women and men in high-responsibility positions, and whose companies have not already been beneficiaries in previous editions. Likewise, 5% of the places will be reserved for those candidates who, fulfilling the requirements of access to the Project, have a recognized disability of at least 33%. The remaining spaces available will be covered on the basis of results obtained by of each candidate in the recruiting process.
