RAJOY AND MACRI INAUGURATE THE SPAIN-ARGENTINA BUSINESS MEETING

The President of CEOE, Juan Rosell, participated in the plenary session “Argentina and Spain: new opportunities in a new context”

The presidents of the governments of Spain, Mariano Rajoy, and Argentina, Mauricio Macri, inaugurated today in Buenos Aires the Business Meeting between both countries within the framework of Rajoy’s official visit to the Latin American country. The President of CEOE, Juan Rosell and the Head of the President’s Cabinet and of the International and Institutional Relations Department, Narciso Casado, participated at the event, organized by CEOE, the Secretariat of State for Commerce and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce. Rosell attended one of the plenary sessions, “Argentina and Spain: new opportunities in a new context” and participated in a meeting with the president of Unión Industrial Argentina (the Argentinian counterpart of CEOE), Miguel Acevedo, and its Executive Committee.

On the Spanish side, attendees included the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Alfonso Dastis; the Secretary of State for Commerce, Marisa Poncela; the director general of International Trade and Investments from the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, José Luis Kaiser; the CEO of ICEX Spain Export and Investment, Francisco Garzón; and the president of Spain’s Chamber of Commerce, José Luis Bonet; among other personalities.

Meeting with the UIA

Yesterday, April 9th, CEOE representatives held a meeting with the president of the Argentine Industrial Union (CEOE’s Argentine counterpart), Miguel Acevedo, and its Executive Committee, to analyse and reinforce the cooperation between both organizations, especially within the framework of the Ibero-American Business Council (CEIB), which aims to showcase the common competitiveness factors of Ibero-American businessmen to contribute to economic and social development. They also addressed in further detail the economic situation of both countries and discussed a possible cooperation in third markets.

Business meeting

The Spain-Argentina Business Meeting was inaugurated by the President of the Government, Mariano Rajoy; his Argentine counterpart, Mauricio Macri, and the Secretary of State for Trade, Marisa Poncela. Also participating in the opening were the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Alfonso Dastis, the President of CEOE, Juan Rosell; the president of Spain’s Chamber of Commerce, José Luis Bonet and his counterpart in Argentina’s Spanish Chamber of Commerce (CECRA), Guillermo Ambrogi.
