At this meeting, which was used to analyse the economic and social situation in Spain and the relationship with the Ibero-American region, Juan Rosell underlined that the exports of goods and services already represents 33% of GDP and he also stressed the role of Spanish investment abroad and of foreign investment in Spain.

He also touched upon the current economic growth and unemployment rates, pointing out that the Spanish economic situation is very good at the moment, following a hard and long crisis period.  He said that the crisis was responsible for the loss of 3 and a half million jobs from 2008 to 2013. However, he added, between 2014 and 2015, close to a million jobs were created in Spain, and it is estimated that in 2016 there will be a further 450,000 new jobs.

Meanwhile, CEOE’s Director Of International and Institutional Relations, Narciso Casado, referred to the Eleventh Ibero-American Business Meeting to be held on October 27 and 28 in the Colombian city of Cartagena de Indias and where issues such as entrepreneurship, education and the employability of young people will be discussed. Conclusions on these issues will, subsequently, be delivered to the Heads of State and Government who are meeting on October 28 and 29 October in the same Colombian city mentioned above.
