CEOE’s vice-president, Joaquim Gay de Montellà, welcomed the Deputy-Minister’s initiative to hold the future International Import Expo in Shanghai from November 5 to 10, 2018. He also stressed that Spain and China maintain excellent political relations, which have had a positive impact on our economic relations, especially in the commercial front. In fact, he pointed out that China has become our main trading partner outside the EU, with a volume of exchanges that reached about €29 billion last year. On the other hand, "the recent reactivation of Chinese investments in Spain placed our country in 2016 as the seventh largest recipient of Chinese investment in the European Union," he said.
