Spain-Argentina Business Meeting

Entrepreneurial programme on the occasion of the State visit from President Macri

A breakfast will be held previously at El Pardo Palace, which will be attended by the main Spanish investors in Argentina.

Within the framework of the State visit of the President of the Republic of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, to Spain, more than 800 businessmen from both countries will participate in different business activities at CEOE. They will analyse the bilateral business opportunities, specially for SMEs and they will discuss investment opportunities in key sectors such as infrastructures, agro-industry, energy, the pharmaceutical sector or telecommunications, among other. The “Argentina-Spain Business Meeting”, is organized by the Secretariat of State for Commerce, CEOE and Spain’s Chamber of Commerce, in collabouration with the Embassy of Argentina in our country. Previously there will be a breakfast in El Pardo with the main Spanish investors in the country.

Spain-Argentina Meeting

During the meeting, which will last all day long, there will be an initial session where they will present the opportunities offered by Argentina for our companies and it will be led, on the Spanish side, by the Secretary of State for Commerce, María Luisa Poncela; the Vice-President of CEOE and President of CEPYME, Antonio Garamendi; and the director of the International Department of Spain’s Chamber of Commerce, Alfredo Bonet.

On behalf of Argentina, the following will participate in the different business activities scheduled:  Argentina’s Minister of Production, Francisco Cabrera and Minister of Labour, Jorge Triaca; accompanied by the president of the Argentinian Industrial Union, Adrian Kaufmann; the vice president of the Argentinian Agency of Investments and International Trade, Pablo Tantini; and the Ambassador and Secretary of International Economic Relations, Horacio Reyser; and government representatives in key sectors of the country. Among them, it is worth highlighting the Secretary of Agrifood Markets, Marisa Bircher; her counterpart in the field of Entrepreneurs and SMEs, Mariano Mayer; the head of National Viability to the Ministry of Transport, Javier Iguacel; the Undersecretary of Water Resources to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Public Works, Pablo Beraciartua; and his counterpart in Renewable Energies, Sebastian Kind;

Business Programme

After analysing the business opportunities for both countries, more than 800 businessmen from Spain and Argentina will participate in the different events scheduled, such as  B2B meetings, as well as meetings between the various officials and authorities from the Argentinian government and the participating Spanish companies. Subsequently, the presidents of sector associations will meet with Argentinian businessmen to specifically analyse the trade and investment possibilities of each strategic sector.

On the Spanish side, the following will be present: the Federation of Food and Beverage Industries (FIAB); the Association of Electronics and Information Technology Companies (AMETIC); the National Construction Confederation (CNC); the Spanish National Association of Construction Companies (SEOPAN); the Spanish Association of Engineering, Consultancy and Technological Services Companies (TECNIBERIA); the Spanish Railway Association (MAFEX); the Spanish Electricity Industry Association (UNESA); and the Confederation of Young Entrepreneurs (CEAJE).

Large investors

Prior to the business meeting at CEOE, president Macri will also meet at El Pardo Palace with the main Spanish investors, over breakfast, with the aim of introducing the new business climate currently present in Argentina, as well as the opportunities for investing and possible projects in the region. This meeting will be attended by the Secretary of State for Commerce, María Luisa Poncela; the president of CEOE, Juan Rosell and the President of the Spain’s Chamber of Commerce, José Luis Bonet; and on the Argentinian side, the different authorities accompanying President Macri in his visit to our country.
