Within the framework of the second day of the annual plenary meeting of the Business Global Coalition (GBC), which is currently taking place in Washington.

The vice-president of CEOE, Joaquín Gay de Montellá, and the Head of the President’s Cabinet and of the International and Institutional Relations Department, Narciso Casado, met yesterday with the Secretary of the US Treasury, Steven Turner Mnuchin, during the second day of the plenary session of the Coalition (held annually), which took place in Washington. The meeting was attended by presidents, vice-presidents and director-generals of the main European, American and Asian Business Organizations, such as BUSINESSEUROPE (European Union), BDI (Germany), MEDEF (France), Confindustria (Italy), CBI (United Kingdom), Tusiad (Turkey), the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, UIA (Argentina), CNI (Brazil), CII (India) and the US Chamber of Commerce (USCC), presided by Tom Donohue and who hosted the meeting.

In his speech, the vice-president of CEOE, Joaquín Gay de Montellá, highlighted the good performance of the Spanish economy as a result of the reforms promoted by the Government since 2012, especially in policies related to the labour and financial fields.

Meanwhile, the president of the US Chamber of Commerce, Tom Donohue, mentioned the favourable progression of the US economy and stressed the positive effects that fiscal reform and the announced deregulation will have on the country's economic activity. He also spoke about the business opportunities that the Government's infrastructure program would offer, a program that aims to modernize infrastructures.
