CEOE PARTICIPATES IN THE INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC FORUM ON ECONOMIC GROWTH IN WESTERN AFRICA

The Director of CEOE’s President’s Cabinet and Head of the International and Institutional Relations Department, Narciso Casado, took part in the International Economic Forum: "Perspectives of economic growth in Western Africa", which was held yesterday at the headquarters of Casa Africa in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

This Forum, which was opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Alfonso Dastis; the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, and the Mayor of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Augusto Hidago, was also attended by representatives from six African countries:  Ghana's Minister of Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen, the Minister of Tourism, Transport and Maritime Economy of Cape Verde, José Da Silva Gonçalves, the Economic Affairs Director of the African Union Commission, René N'Guetia Kouassi and senior officials from Morocco, Mauritania, Ghana, Senegal , Cape Verde and Ivory Coast.

During their speeches, Dastis and Clavijo expressed the need to support the "inclusive and sustainable" growth of Western Africa and the role of young African entrepreneurs in a business-friendly context as well as the ability of Spain and the Islands to contribute to the growth and stability of the area.
