Within the framework of the Twenty-sixth Ibero-American Summit

CEOE-CEIB, SEGIB AND CACIF INAUGURATE THE TWELFTH IBERO-AMERICAN BUSINESS MEETING IN LA ANTIGUA, GUATEMALA

• The President of Guatemala, Jimmy Morales, Garamendi, Grynspan, García Noriega and Malouf opened the Twelfth Ibero-American Business Meeting

The President of the Republic of Guatemala, Jimmy Morales; the vice president of CEOE and president of CEPYME, Antonio Garamendi; the Ibero-American General Secretary, Rebeca Grynspan; the president of CACIF (Guatemala’s Employers’ Federation), Marco Augusto García Noriega; and the president of the Organizing Committee of the Twelfth Ibero-American Business Meeting, Antonio Malouf, inaugurated today in La Antigua, Guatemala, the Twelfth Ibero-American Business Meeting. The event, organized by the Ibero-American Business Council, CEIB; the Ibero-American General Secretariat, Segib, and the Guatemalan Employers’ Federation, Cacif, under the slogan "Central America invites you, Antigua, Guatemala, welcomes you", is the official business event of the Twenty-sixth Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government. More than 700 businessmen from across all countries in the region will attend the event as well as 300 officials from Ibero-American institutions and organizations, which is the largest participation in this type of event to date.

Twenty-ninth Meeting of Ibero-American Business Organizations

On the second and final day of the Twenty-ninth Meeting of Ibero-American Business Organizations, prior to the opening of the Business Meeting, topics analysed included multilateralism and bilateralism: the rules of the game in a changing environment, and women’s access to management positions and opportunities in the Ibero-American labour market.

At the end of the meeting, all the presidents and representatives of Ibero-American Business Organizations agreed on the conclusions set out in the briefing document that was sent to the Twelfth Ibero-American Business Meeting and which will be presented tomorrow to the Heads of State and Government. The meeting also included the participation of the permanent secretary of the Council of Ibero-American Entrepreneurs (CEIB), Narciso Casado Martin, who went over the council's activity this past year and proposed a plan for the future. The event was closed by the Vice-president of CEOE and CEPYME, Antonio Garamendi; the president of the OIE, Erol Kisepi; and the president of CACIF, Marco Augusto García Noriega.
