CEOE ASKS FOR A STATE PACT TO GUARANTEE THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE SPANISH INDUSTRY

Together with APIE, CEOE presented the Report "The industrial sector, growth engine: analysis and recommendations”

The President of CEOE’s Industry and Energy Commission, Guillermo Ulacia, has asked for a State Pact to be reached in Spain in order to respond to the challenges that the industrial sector faces and to guarantee appropriate policies to enable an increase in competitiveness and in the specific weight of the industrial sector within the national GDP.

Guillermo Ulacia, who, together with the Association of Journalists of Economic Information, APIE, presented the report "the industrial sector, the growth engine: analysis and recommendations” indicated that, to achieve this agreement, it is necessary to involve the Spanish society as a whole, with all affected agents, business sector, workers, unions, public administrations and political parties playing an active role.

Among the challenges faced by the sector, the report highlights: achieving a competitive energy price for industrial activities, taking into account the countries of our European and global surroundings; developing infrastructures and regulatory measures that increase transport capacities and accelerate access to markets and promoting the internationalization of companies based in Spain.
