CEOE AND CEPYME EXPRESS THEIR SURPRISE AND OUTRAGE IN LIGHT OF CCOO

CEOE and CEPYME express their surprise, outrage and concern in light of the announcements made today by CCOO on the unilateral termination of social dialogue by the Government and the Unions. The employers are unhappy about not having been informed prior to the bilateral agreement and about having found out through the media.

CCOO stated this morning, at a press conference, that there is a preliminary bilateral agreement between the unions and the Government which will repeal part of the labour reform currently in place without taking into account the employers' opinion, even though there is supposed to be an open roundtable to negotiate this matter.

CEOE and CEPYME warn that this type of measures taken behind the back of social dialogue endanger Spain's growth and employment outlook.

Spanish businessmen wish to recall that their permanent commitment to social dialogue has allowed this country, over the past 40 years, to achieve social peace, economic growth and employment creation.
