CARMEN ALSINA, CEOE’S DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATION, INSTITUTIONAL RELATIONS AND SUSTAINABILITY

The President of CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, has appointed Carmen Alsina as the Director of CEOE’s Communication, Institutional Relations and Sustainability Department.  Up until now, Carmen Alsina was Head of Caixabank’s Communication and External Relations Department for Castilla y León and Asturias.

Carmen Alsina, born in Gijon in 1976, has a degree in Law from the University of Oviedo. She holds a Graduate Degree in Stocks and Wealth Management from the same University (2007-2008) and a Master's Degree in Communication and Cultural Criticism awarded by the University of Alcalá de Henares together with El Cultural magazine (2015-2016). She is also an Out-of-Court Conflict Mediator, a qualification granted by the Castilla y León Bar Association (2012-2013).

Her professional career has been linked, for the most part, to CaixaBank, a company where she’s worked for 14 years and where she was in charge of the “Companies” department in Gijon’s main office until 2011. Subsequently and until September 2012, she was the regional Minister of Finance and the Public Administration for Gijon’s City Council, as well as a member of several Boards of Directors, including the Port of Gijon’s Board, representing the Government of the Principality of Asturias. During this stage she also held the 3 vice-presidencies of the City Council’s Boards and foundations.

In September 2012 she returned to CaixaBank, specifically to its regional headquarters for Castilla y León and Asturias, located in Burgos, and since then she has been responsible for the Communication and External Relations Department of this entity in both communities.
