For the first time in the history of the prestigious award, the award ceremony, organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Spain (CCIS) and the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), transcended the Iberian borders and was held in Rome, in the magnificent setting of Villa Madama, headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic, and was attended by a number of institutional officials from Spain and Italy. In particular, the event took place within the framework of the 15th Spain-Italy Dialogue Forum and was attended by the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano.

Since 1999, the Spain-Italy Dialogue Forum brings together almost every year important personalities from the fields of politics, business and the civil society of both countries, with the aim of guiding and strengthening the dialogue between the two governments. The presentation of the Tiepolo Prize, for the first time within the celebration of the Forum, wanted to highlight the driving role of the two business communities in fostering even deeper bilateral relations.

The journalist and member of the jury for the Tiepolo Award, Josto Maffeo, was in charge of opening the 21st edition of the event, highlighting the successful career of both winners and their decisive contribution to the enhancement of economic relations between Spain and Italy.

Meanwhile, the president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Spain, Marco Pizzi, underlined the importance of the context in which the event was held: "Celebrating the 21st edition of the Tiepolo Award in Rome, within the framework of this prestigious and traditional moment when both of our political and institutional representatives come together, as it happens in the Spain-Italy Dialogue Forum, represents, without doubt, a fundamental stage in the international scope of this award." Pizzi also highlighted the careers of the award recipients: "The two award winners and the companies they represent are joined by a strong vocation towards internationalization. Their consolidated presence in Spain and Italy is the best proof of the strength, dynamicity and mutual trust that characterize the economic and trade relations between the two countries. "
