She also stated that it was a “matter of justice” for women to be present in the decision-making process at all levels: political, social, cultural and economic. In this sense, she underlined that Promociona seeks to identify female talent and make it visible, promoting women’s professional development and leadership skills, enabling highly qualified executive women to access decision-making positions in companies.
On the other hand, Juan Rosell thanked Dolors Montserrat for attending the Promociona event in one of the first public activities she undertakes since she took on the Ministry, post for which, from CEOE, they wish her the greatest success. He recalled that the main goal of the Promociona project is to give a real boost to women’s careers towards high management positions and a place in Boards of Directors in companies, creating greater awareness on this issue within firms and in society in general.
He said that the presence of women in companies and institutions is an exceptional force with great potential for the development of managerial responsibilities. Thanks to projects such as Promociona –he added–,”we will enable more women to fill this type of positions, and those companies that support this sure asset will achieve better management and higher business growth”.
The president of BBVA, Francisco González, said that “well-managed diversity multiplies the impact of talent and represents a great competitive advantage" and he added that "in a disruptive environment such as the current one, companies must promote the presence of women in organizations because their contribution makes them stronger ".
At the Event they also hosted a brief round table with the participation of Luis de Torres, CEO of Sodexo HC LatAm & Brazil, who acted as sponsor of the Sixth Edition of the Promociona project; Belén Frau, CEO of Ikea Italy, sponsor of the Third edition, and Pilar Cabrera, director general of Sacyr Portugal, representing the almost 300 women that have participated in Promociona up until now.
The PROMOCIONA project promotes the access of women to senior management positions and Boards of Directors of companies, and arouses a lot of interest among companies and female professionals in senior posts. More than 26 % of the women in top posts who have attended in the last three editions have already been promoted within their company, thus fulfilling the main goal of the program: to achieve greater female presence in positions of higher responsibility, hence accomplishing shared leadership.
Promociona in a joint initiative from the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality and CEOE, in addition to ESADE business school, which also collaborates in the project.
